Obstetric and Pediatric Anesthesia

Introduction

The division currently consists of five anesthesiologists and 30+ nurse-anesthetists. We prioritize in providing anesthetic care for obstetric, gynecological, and pediatric surgery. Other areas of our duties include anesthesia for pediatric urology, oral surgery, ophthalmic surgery and operative dental surgery. We further specialize in anesthesia for laparoscopic gynecological procedures, as well as 24-hr painless labor for intra-partum pain relief.
The division comprises of anesthesiologists solely dedicated to pediatric anesthesia. Senior residents from other Medical Centers, such as National Taiwan University Hospital, Taichung Veterans General Hospital, and Tzu Chi General Hospital, have visited our division to acquire more experience in pediatric anesthesia.

Service & Specialty

The division is led by specialists skilled in the field of pediatric anesthesia. We are especially experienced in dealing with anesthesia for children with congenital airway anomalies. Examples of our anesthetic experience include the well known 1997 siamese twins operation and the 1999 Vietnamese child “A-Fu” craniofacial surgery. Our doctors are acclaimed for their roles in overseas humanistic volunteer work in the anesthetic field. The division is also active in exchange of anesthetic experience with mainland China.
The division is additionally responsible for anesthesia in the obstetric ward. This includes pre-partum evaluation, painless labor, post operative pain control, and anesthesia for Caesarean section as well as tubal ligation. We aim to provide utmost safety and comfort for the pregnant women.
